Deva Installation and Setup (Manual)
This article will guide you through the complete installation and setup of CMM-Manager on a Deva Manual system.
The DEVA Manual CMM-Manager Installation Guide and a sample Deva System Config file are attached below.
New Installations: Important Notice
Some prior knowledge/training of machine installation and configuration is required to complete the installation. More detailed information and installation/configuration guides, as well as OEM support contacts, are available on the DEVA website at
http://www.deva.co.uk/support-downloads. See "Deva CMM controllers Quick Install Guide" and "DevaCMMCtrl Configuration Guide".
Installation and Machine Setup
Install the Deva Drivers
- Follow the steps in Deva Driver Installation to install the Deva drivers.
Install and Start CMM-Manager
- Install CMM-Manager on the computer. The current version is always available from https://qxcmm.com/download/.
- Run CMM-Manager offline (check the offline box in the "Log On to CMM-Manager" dialog box).
Setup the Deva Controller
- Select "System | Machine Setup" from the CMM-Manager ribbon bar.
(Note: The machine setup password is "service".)
- Switch to the “Deva Controller” tab. This is normally the default tab displayed.
- Enter the linear scale factor for X, Y, and Z. The default values are: 1.0, 1.0, 1.0.
(The actual scaling is normally done in the Deva driver configuration.)
- Check the “Enable Deva Error Map” box if you would like to use the error map from Deva.
- Click the [Apply] button to save the changes made to this page.
- Click the [OK] or [Cancel] button to close "Machine Setup" dialog.
Connect and Home the Machine
- Click "System | Connect" from the CMM-Manager ribbon tab to test connecting to the machine. If the connection fails, follow the error message prompts for corrective action.
Do not continue to the next step until the machine is connected successfully.
- If prompted to do a ‘homing’ operation, manually move the machine to the home location and click [OK].
Do not continue to the next step until the machine is homed.
Complete the machine configuration
- Follow the steps in Common Setup Procedures to complete the machine configuration.
