Installation and Machine Setup

Install the Deva Drivers

  1. Follow the steps in Deva Driver Installation to install the Deva drivers.
Install and Start CMM-Manager
  1. Install CMM-Manager on the computer.  The current version is always available from https://qxcmm.com/download/.
  2. Run CMM-Manager offline (check the offline box in the "Log On to CMM-Manager" dialog box).

Setup the Deva Controller

  1. Select "System | Machine Setup" from the CMM-Manager ribbon bar.
(Note: The machine setup password is "service".)
  1. Switch to the “Deva Controller” tab.  This is normally the default tab displayed.
  2. Enter the linear scale factor for X, Y, and Z. The default values are: 1.0, 1.0, 1.0.
(The actual scaling is normally done in the Deva driver configuration.)
  1. Check the “Enable Deva Error Map” box if you would like to use the error map from Deva.
  2. Click the [Apply] button to save the changes made to this page.
  3. Click the [OK] or [Cancel] button to close "Machine Setup" dialog.

Connect and Home the Machine

  1. Startup
    1. Make sure the air supply is turned on.  Switch on the power to the CMM.  Wait until the Machine START LED on the joystick goes OFF. Now press the Machine START button firmly and hold it down until the LED turns green.
    2. If the Machine Start LED is not green, do the following checks:
      1. Verify that the air supply is turned on and has sufficient pressure.
      2. Check if the Emergency Stop button on the joystick unit is pressed.  The Emergency Stop can be released by turning the button clockwise.
      3. Check that the PHC (Probe Head Controller) is turned on if an automatic head is used.
After the problem has been identified and corrected, press Machine START ON to continue.
  1. Move all 3 axes to a safe location toward the center of the machine before homing is performed.
  2. Click "System | Connect" from the CMM-Manager ribbon tab to test connecting to the machine. If the connection fails, follow the error message prompts for corrective action.
Do not continue to the next step until the machine is connected successfully.
  1. When prompted, press the Machine Start button on the JOG box firmly and keep it pressed for 3 seconds until the servo engage signal is heard from the CMM controller.
  2. If prompted to do a ‘homing’ operation, click [OK].
Do not continue to the next step until the machine is homed.
