Canned Alignments are pre-packaged routines that, in one program step, prompt the operator through a sequence of feature measurements which are then used to create a complete, determinant alignment. Canned alignments are generally meant for parts which are prismetric in nature with orthogonal features.
If the canned alignment is taught while offline, the alignment OPO will be added to the program and executed at runtime. If the canned alignment is taught while online, the user will be prompted through the alignment steps.
Canned Alignment Confirmation
By default, in all canned alignment cases, a confirmation screen will be displayed when the alignment is taught. Verify the information and click OK.
3-2-1 Alignment (Plane-Line-Point)
The 3-2-1 Alignment requires exactly 6 points. It requires three points on a planar surface to define the primary axis, two points along an edge, used as a line, to create the secondary axis, and one point on the remaining side to define the origin along the tertiary datum.

Plane-Circle-Circle
The Plane-Circle-Circle alignment uses the plane as the primary axis, a line constructed between the two (projected) circles as the secondary axis, and the first circle measured is used as the origin for all axes.

Plane-Line-Line
The Plane-Line-Line alignment uses the plane as the primary axis, the first line measured as the secondary axis, and a point is constructed at the intersection of the two lines and used for the origin for all axes.

Plane-line-Circle
The Plane-Line-Circle alignment uses the plane as the primary axis, the line as the secondary axis, and the (projected) circle is used for the origin for all axes.

Cylinder-Point-Line
The
Cylinder-Point-Line alignment uses a cylinder as the primary axis (see
Using a Cylinder as a Primary Axis), a point to set the origin along that axis, and a line to set the secondary axis. The center of the cylinder is used to set the two origins not defined by the point.
