Topography Check
Once a gear is defined and the reference frame has been established, we can configure and teach a Topography Check into the program database. Unlike other gear check items that can evaluate up to 4 teeth in one item, this tool will the evaluate topography of a single specified tooth. This combines the lead check and profile check. It can then output reports to help evaluate that data relative to the gear definition.
Teaching Topography Check
Output File- The name of the report output file.
Check Tooth - The individual tooth specified for measurement. This number is relative to the first tooth.
Lead Points: The number of points for the Lead evaluation.
Profile Points: The number of points for the Profile evaluation.
Create Graphical Report - Check this box to create a supplemental Graphical Report to help visualize the Topography Check measurement results. If checked, you will need to name this report individually.
Smooth - This is a Graphical Report parameter. Check this box to make report curves smoother by interpolating measurement data.
Reporting Topography Check
Below is an example graphical report for the topography check.
Paste the example graphical reports and mention how to interpret each item.
Mention that corresponding clouds will be generated to perform additional analysis like Cloud-to-CAD. Raw data will be written to a text file in ProgramFile directory as well.
