Romer Infinite / Stinger / etc. (Win RDS)

The Romer Infinite arm (Stinger / Nikon MCA II) is supported in Windows 7 and Windows 10 for both x86 and x64 using the Romer WinRDS utility.
Alert
Windows 10x64 requires a version of WinRDS newer than 5.x in order for the driver to be recognized.  WinRDS 7.1.6 is recommended.
  1. Install WinRDS 7.1.6
  2. Plug the Romer USB connector into the PC
  3. Check Windows Device Manager to verify that the drivers are installed correctly.

  1. Launch the Cimcore Arm Utility and connect
    1. Any connection issues must be resolved before continuing

  1. Close the Cimcore Arm Utility
  2. Install CMM-Manager
  3. Run CMM-Manager, select the Nikon MCA II / Romer Arm driver option and connect



WinRds
CMM-Manager's direct interface supports two generations of WinRDS.

IQRomerArm.dll (This driver is built on WinRDS 5.0.3 SDK, runs with WinRDS 5.0.3, and tested backward compatibility up to WinRDS 4.2.0 software)

IQRomerArm31.dll (This driver is built on WinRDS 3.1.0 SDK, runs with WinRDS 3.1.0, and tested backward compatibility up to WinRDS 2.3.5 software)

IQRomerDllSwitch.exe (This utility is used to switch between IQRomerArm.dll and IQRomerArm31.dll. CMM-Manager can only load driver dll with name "IQRomerArm.dll")

Arm spec files could be in the arm or on a disk.
For some versions of WinRDS to work, the following files are needed in the CMM-Manager\Driver folder. These files need to be copied from the WinRDS installed folder.
"xdat.dll" (mathematical support dll to work with SDK)
"Lgps.dll" (support dll to work with SDK)
"winrds.dll" (the main dll in SDK - probably required)
"arm.dll" (probably required)
"rxxc.dll" (this dll is arm type-specific; rename one of the user's existing rxxc group dlls as "rxxc.dll" based on the arm type)

Notes
NOTE: For WinRDS 4.2 and later, you may need to copy the below dll also to CMM-Manager\Driver
arm.dll (found in the WinRDS installed folder)

WINRDS DLL group includes the following:

?? WINRDSDEU.DLL German language interface DLL.
?? WINRDSSPN.DLL Spanish language interface DLL.

RXXC DLL group includes the following:
?? RDENSC.DLL 1000/3000 Series Arm interface DLL.
?? STINGER.DLL Stinger Series Arm interface DLL.
?? R6SC.DLL 2000 Arm series interface DLL.
