ComUC Drivers
Ensure the ComUC-PCI drivers are properly installed. The drivers may be downloaded from here:
Probe Head Controller
- Serial: The cable connecting to the PHC should be plugged into a serial port (COM) of the PC, NOT the 9-pin connector on the ComUC card.
- GPIB: The PHC controller's default PAD = 4 when used with a Mitutoyo CMM, but it could revert to 26 on some Windows 7 PCs using the latest NI 488.2 software.
CMM-Manager (64 or 32 bit) communicates via the 32bit “UCDBW.DLL” which needs to be copied to the following location:
- Windows 64bit OS
- CMM-Manager 2020 or later:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\QxSoft\CmmServices
- CMM-Manager 3.8 - 3.10:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Nikon\NMCmmServices
- CMM-Manager pre-3.8:
-
%SystemRoot%\SysWoW64
- Windows 32bit OS
- C:\Windows\System32
If available, the “UCDBW.INI” file should be copied to the same location as “UCDBW.DLL”.
Problems have been observed with Mitutoyo ComUC running on certain HP desktop computers. HP computers utilizing PCI expansion slots similar to the HP PCI Expansion Slot Kit Riser Card E1V16AA, may not work properly.
We recommend Dell Precision workstations similar to the Dell 7820, 5820, or 3440.
