I have a part that is thin (1mm) I create planes for each side, one datum & the opposite side to record the thickness. I keep getting small thickness readings even though with micrometers the parts are spot on. I put an indicator against the back surface of the part and noted the part deflecting up to .003 when the probe was touching the opposite side. I assume it is causing the poor reading?
