New to the world of CMM...
Hello,
I've been a Quality Manager (more/less the entire quality department) at a small machine shop for almost 5 months now. Been learning the ins and outs of their whole operation, learning about dimensioning and tolerancing, and the various products.
I come from electronics (medical devices for over 20 years), from which I got laid off. This company liked my experience as well as education (MBA in project management). But anyways.
I don't come from a machining background, yet have done very minor things at the hobby level. I have the basic understanding. When it comes to CAD, I'm pretty clueless.
We have a COORD3 Ares CMM with CMM-Manager 2022 software. I've been trying to learn how to use it... I know how to turn it on and move the probe around.
Where's the best place to start to truly understand the operation of these machines? Any good resources out there to learn? I'm sure I'll be asking many questions, I'm always looking to learn as much as I can about a subject.
Thanks
