Generating Measurement Locations on a Surface with a Complex Boundary

Generating Measurement Locations on a Surface with a Complex Boundary

Is there a way to generate touch probe measurement locations on a surface with a complex boundary?

For example, let's discuss the surface below. Because it is a narrow surface, I switch from the "Target Point #" method to the "Along Edge" method. If I set the "Margin" setting to 0.2, the measurement locations go all the way around the surface (which is desired), but they are too close to the edge (which is not desired).

If I increase the Margin setting to 0.5, points are closer to the center of the narrow surface, but it also excludes the front portion of the surface from receiving points. This is because the margin cuts too far into the primitive plane that represents the complex surface behind the scenes.

How can I effectively generate measurement points at the center of this surface all the way around its perimeter?
