Feature Request: In-Program Vision Measurement Visual Verification
As a video measuring system user (e.g. Nikon VMA-2520), I want to verify that the points measured with vision measurement tools were measured correctly while the program runs.
Currently, the measured points that appear in the camera image during a run disappear so quickly that I can't confirm whether the measured points were good or not. This isn't ideal for vision measurements because measuring edges using vision tools can be a challenging process, and it may take many runs to dial in the settings (i.e. threshold, lighting, etc.) for a given measurement. A similar issue occurs when using the vision AF tools, except for in this case, it isn't possible to tell where focus was found.
Here is what I would prefer to have happen:
- Given a vision XY-plane tool (e.g. all vision measurement tools except the vision AF tools) is collecting a measurement during a run...
- when the measurement is taken...
- display the measured points overlayed on the camera image for 1-2 seconds.
- Given a vision AF tool is collecting a measurement during a run...
- when the measurement is taken...
- display the camera image at the z-position where focus was found for 1-2 seconds.
In another vision software I've used, there is a setting that adjusts the time the measured points and focus position are displayed in the camera window before going live again. Perhaps CMM-Manager could do something similar? Or maybe there is another way to accomplish the same goal already implemented on CMM-Manager?
