Disk probe with 6way module calibration?

Disk probe with 6way module calibration?

We have a disk probe setup (PN A-5555-0297) on a 6 way module which is great for measuring groove diameters, but id like to be able to measure groove widths also. I see that there are disk probes with and without a radius end roller but i still don't see how you would calibrate the disk for the +/- Z plane.

This specific disk probe is not in the UCC Server library and when i tried to add it as a custom styli, i ended up corrupting the .txt file somehow. Our computers are locked down due to cyber security reasons so its a process to be able to edit program files without messing things up.

This is a email from Renishaw regarding the issue

"If you’re referring to measuring with the disk in the +/- Z plane then there is no method (at least in our software) to calibrate that dimension. The best you can do is take +/- Z hit on some gauge quality known dimension and use the resultant tip position to do your own calculations for an effective offset (CMM Manager support may be able to assist with this). Obviously this method is not going to be particularly precise. "
