CYLINDERS: How do you reverse the vector for checking cylinders

I have a part that has a cylinder feature at an angle that I cannot reasonably measure the ID of and so as an alternative I want to use a pin and check the pin to see how close I am. 

When I select the cylinder feature and try to reverse the vector qx seems to be particularly difficult. I want to push the "depth" of the feature so that is "outside" but adjusting range seems to be very complicated. 

Is there an easier way to do this?
