Reporting Alignments
We recently had our annual Boeing DPD audit and this one was a doozy. Does anyone here have experience in dealing with D6-51991 by chance? I'm wondering how to best satisfy the reports section (6.2.2). One thing I am getting hung up on is needing to include
CREATING ALIGNMENTS: What is the proper order of operations?
I thought I had the proper steps down but I'm getting such wonky numbers I'm sure I'm missing something. How critical is order of operations? I really only use the Free Position Alignment command when setting up parts. Does a SYNC Part command need
Preferences - Auto Save Backup File
I am wanting to change the auto save setting. According to help file this would be located in system > preferences button. However, I have no preference button in my ribbon. Where would I find this preferences button
Touch speed
Hi, Those of you with a TP200 probe, what touch speed do you use? Just curious if I'm going to slow :) Thanks,
Shortcut Keys
While programming in CMM Manager, I like to use the shortcut keys. However, every morning when I open CMM Manager, all my shortcut keys are gone and I have to go in and reset them all. Is there a way for me to save my shortcut keys so that I don't have
Counterbore on Cylinder
Two questions here. First, I have a print that has a callout for a counterbore on a cylindrical surface and I am not sure where to measure the depth from. Second how do I report this on CMM Manager? Thanks.
Tolerance color bar not showing on report
Not sure why my tolerance color bar isn't showing on my report.. It is turned on in preferences. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
Trying to understand fitting
Can anyone explain to me why the Construct Best Fit Plane will sometimes use the Points as Corners, and sometimes it puts them on Edges?
DDE Excel file location
I have several programs that have 50 ish lines of DDE export in the program. At some point our server paths changed, switching what was for example the "Z" drive, to what is now the "X" drive. This has made it so I have to change the path in every DDE
CAD file needed after import ??
Is an imported cad file needed to be in place after it is imported into a CMM-Manager .CMP file ? I have wondered about this for years, and never asked...
TORUS - DOUGHNUT SHAPE - PULLY GROOVES
I'm wanting to make a torus from pully grooves off of my cad. is there an easy way to do this? using a coord3 cmm w/ph20 head.
DRO moves on its own
I always place the DRO at the bottom right corner of my blue screen. This morning is the second time that it has been moved when I get here in the morning. We don't have a night shift or anyone around to mess with it. Also the computer has not been restarted
UCC server delete unused components
Hello! Does anyone know how to delete unwanted/unused components in UCC server software? Right clicking the component does not give a delete option, or highlighting the component and pressing delete key does nothing. Thanks!
Changes to "transform" in 2022
Afternoon all, I just made the jump up to the 2022 release and I noticed something different that wasn't mentioned in the notes. There seems to be a change to how the transform function works going from 2021 to 2022. In previous versions you could right
Shortcut keys
Where in 2022 can I customize shortcut keys? I had several set in 2021, but they no longer work and I am not able to find where to change them again.

Default Variable value for Ref Frame Rotation
I am using a VB InputBox variable to set my Ref Frame Rotation at runtime. Is there a way to, while programing, set a nominal value for a Ref Frame rotation, so I can continue creating my program ? Or will I have to hard enter the nominal value, then
outside diameter
I'm new to DCC. I was wondering if there is a way to check an outside diameter and have the probe follow the radius instead of taking a straight line to the next point. The program is not using a CAD model.
Flip Part but not Fixture
I have imported CAD which contains both my locating fixture and the part to measure. I now need to flip the part upside down on the fixture and measure the rest of the part features. when I do the Move Part CMM-M of course moves my whole CAD so the fixture
VB Script to enter an angle value
I thought I saw a topic on doing exactly the following, but I can not find it: I have a part that I have a second program to inspect some features on the bottom of the part. I am creating this program and I have a angle that I need to enter at runtime
Bilateral TP
Can anyone explain to me why there is always a deviation on Bilaterals when evaluating a NOMINAL during offline programming?
MMC calculation on perpendicularity
My Datum B cylinder is measuring about .004" over MMC. Why am I seeing only a .001" bonus when reporting my perpendicularity? Am I missing something?
Inscribed circle
Hi, Does anyone know the best approach to get an inscribed circle like the one on the image below (Ø8)? I have the three Ø4 circles to measure on. For now, I just constructed lines between the circles and construct the circle from the intersection points.
Straightness check
I never come across straightness callouts on my parts. There is no reporting button for this. My guess is that I would make a best-fit line with my 4 diameters and then report Profile>Line profile. The bores are +/-.014mm with a straightness of .012mm
Reverse Engineering
Does anybody know the best way to measure an unknown profile DCC then create a profile from the points taken? I have a part that I need to duplicate that I want to make a 2D sketch of using features measured with the CMM. The perimeter of the part is
Creating a line thru scanned points.
I am trying to figure out how to create a line, through all the points of a 2d scanned cloud. I can export the points, but once its in Solidworks its not very easy to build a line when there is a large number of points, I think this one is over 1000 points.
Knowledge Base milestone - 185 articles and counting!
Hi there CMM-Manager users. Over the last week we've added around 50 KB articles, there are now over 70. All manual and DCC install guides along with updated notes are included. We will now start to add tutorials, error help, and other auxiliary

Do you have a time frame for the release of 2022?
Preferred CMM brands?
We are potentially looking into buying a new (or newer) CMM. We are really happy with the CMM Manager software. Are there any CMM brands that work particularly well with CMM-M? Anybody shipping with CMM-M pre-installed? Also, does CMM-M support all the
Moving reference frame
Hello, Does anyone know how to change the reference frame in a program without recreating all of the paths. I created a part program offline recalling a fixture reference frame but accidently used the wrong offset. I set the X offset as 12" when it needed
Flatness/parallelism
Hello, I am still surprised by a measurement result. It concerns flatness and parallelism. I do not find it normal to have a parallelism defect on a plane which is lower than its flatness value.
Just a basic question.
I pickup the part. Level, align and origin a simple plane and circle. Go back to the program with the next feature at X 0 and Y0 and the feature keeps moving. Firstly I would like to lock the feature but everytime I go back to the feature it has
Error
I am having issues with my Nikon Altera machine. In the past I have had issues with this first message "connection reset by peers" which was fixed by adjusting some ethernet and USB settings on the computer. Now it is happening again and giving a me an
True position of a cylinder
Hello, I have a measurement result that does not seem correct on true position of a cylinder ("D4.1"). CMM Manager indicates a "Y" defect which seems too important to be true unless the cylinder is not perpendicular, which is not the case and on the
Getting a PH20 to play nice
I spend a fair amount of time trying to get our PH20 head to play nice with CMM Manager. Attached is a case where 1/2 the points on the OD were inaccessible when measuring 101mm and -2mm depth, but all the points were accessible at 97mm and +2mm depth.
Calibration
I have a question.. the guy that sold us CMM Manager and did the last calibration on our CMM has gone out of business. The guy we used in the past with OpenDmis is coming to do the calibration but doesn't know CMM manager software and is telling me that
CREATING REPORTS: BYPASSING THE DEFAULT REPORT

Cloud to CAD best fit
I'm having some unexpected results that I was hoping someone could help clarify the best fit function of the Cloud to CAD reporting. My assumption was, if I do not select the "Best Fit" box the profile will be fully constrained to my current reference
