TP2 to TP20
This may not be the place to ask, but would you all have any idea what would be involved from updating my CMM from a TP2 probe to a TP20? Is this something I can do myself? How would my existing programs be affected? Is this a better question for a Renishaw
Evaluating projected Position
Hi there, I'd like to know the best way to evaluate a Position callout to a projected distance, as shown below with the red arrow.
CMM Manager running on Windows 10
Hi, we are currently running CMM Manager 3.7 Sp2 on Windows 7 and would like to know if anyone has had any issues running this version on Windows 10 before we go ahead and do the install.
PROBE COMP ON OR OFF
I WAS READING SOMEWHERE ON HERE, THAT WHEN USING POINTS OR COULDS TO BUILD PLANES, CYLINDERS, OR OTHER STUFF, THAT PROBE COMP SHOULD BE OFF BECAUSE OF A COSINE ERROR. WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF WHEN TO HAVE COMP ON, VS OFF? I DON'T THINK I UNDERSTAND
Manual programming hits doesn't register automatically
Earlier manual hits taken, used to get register automatically but suddenly not sure why it asks to press Spacebar key to register manual hits. Is it configuration change ?
Timeout error connecting to UCC Server?
I keep getting this error message when i startup CMM manager. I've tried opening up the timeout interval like it suggests with no affect. I cant run any programs because it wont pull in any data in regards to probe assemblies or tips. I've tried opening
Scripting in CMM Manager
I am interested in writing scripts in CMM Manager programs that include doing some simple math and making suggestions of how to modify machine settings based on results. While I have 40 years of programming in Fortran, VB etc...I don't know the secret
Best method to control the complete shape of a part (foundry style).
Hello, Do you have any advice on measuring a complete part, like a foundry? I usually use a TP200 and sometimes a SP25 and I have the CAD option. The interest would be to make the most complete inspection possible while being as fast as possible. At the
Form error of cylindrical probe with spherical tip
I am getting a form error of .250 on my cylinder probe using a ph20 and .006 when using a ph10 (2 different CMMs). what can i do with the ph20 to minimize the form error? i have tried rebuilding the probe from scratch with no effect and have tried using

Evaluating Position to only one Datum
My part is DCC-aligned to Datums A, B & C (plane, circle, circle). My print calls for Position of a diameter to Datum A and B (no modifiers) within .050mm, so I want to leave out Datum C. When reporting Position I have two options, use current reference

Do you have any information for using the B89 Option in the Software. Ball Bar sizes, sphere sizes, patterns, etc.
Raw Data Export
Greetings - I recently used the raw data export after measuring circles at various heights to create a cross section rendering of an ID. After I sent this data to the engineer and it was used to plot the raw data versus the nomial size, the raw data did
Cylindrical probe calibration
Where can I go to change the qualification angle to calibrate a cylindrical probe? I want to come up off the equator of my calibration sphere by 5-10 degrees. This is to ensure I'm calibrating the radial end and not hitting the cylinder part of my stylus.
user Manual
I know that I may be old school, but YouTube videos do not work well as instructions for me. My desk and computer are quite a distance from my CMM's, and walking back and forth, starting and stopping, and rewinding the videos is not the easiest thing
Finding the apex of a cone
My print calls out the Position of the apex of a cone (a divot/concave shape) and I'm having a hard time getting a theoretical point on the apex. Measuring as a cone feature works fine except when I evaluate the position, it assumes it's from the base/largest
